I figured it was about time I toss up a journal about tattoo commissions - I do take them and they are OPEN!
As you will see from my gallery, I work in the tribal style. I haven't the slightest idea how I got interested in designing tattoos...one day I just started messing around with shapes and voila! I find it to be a nice break from my regular style of artwork. Anyway...
How do I order?
Just send me a note! I promise I won't bite.
How much does a tattoo design cost?
This is variable. My minimum charge for a design is $10.00 USD. This would get you a pretty basic, single-character headshot. This would not include "paw" tattoos. Examples: [link] & [link]
For a little more ($15.00 - $20.00 USD) you could get a "paw" tattoo (a pawprint with a character contained in the design) or a more detailed character image. If you want text embedded in the toes of a "paw" tattoo, your price will be on the higher end of this range. Examples: [link] & [link]
And it goes up from there. For $25.00 USD you could order a full-body image of a single character. Example: [link]
Additional characters in any of the above categories would be anywhere from $5.00 - $10.00 USD depending upon the difficulty.
How do I pay you?
At this time, I only accept PayPal.
When do I pay you?
I expect payment when the sketch (with all, or most alterations completed) has been approved by the customer. I will not finalize the design (ink it, clean it, and transfer rights of use) until I have received payment in full. Payment should be made within one week/seven (7) days unless other arrangements have been made (for example, if you have to wait until payday, let me know that and the date I can then expect payment.)
Do you make your designs by hand or digitally?
A bit of both. All designs I make start on paper. I find it easier to make sizeable alterations to the initial sketch on the computer. For the most part final designs are digital so I can best suit the customer's needs.
How long does it take you to complete a design?
This is variable. Most of it depends upon how quickly I can communicate back and forth with the buyer. I want to make sure I get everything as close to perfect as I can and this often requires many messages back and forth.
What if I want something changed before the order is complete?
Let me know! I will do my best to accommodate all desired changes that are within my power to correct. All I ask is that, when letting me know that an alteration is needed, please be courteous and as descriptive as possible. If I receive a message that says "I don't like blah, xyz, whatever" that doesn't give me much to go on as far as correcting the issue. Tell me what about it you don't like--the shape of the design? The angle? Is an ear too long or short? Is something positioned strangely? Does a section of the design need to be broken up/joined together?
The only changes I will not accommodate are those that would require me to scrap the original design. If you order a wolf and I sketch a wolf, but then you suddenly want a fish, that is not a change I am willing to make. I will, however, expect payment for the time I have spent on it, completed or not (if not completed I would discount it depending upon how much effort had already gone into the design.)
Any other questions? Just drop me a note!
